A found photograph asks you to imagine why an unknown moment was worth carrying.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

A stranger’s photograph is a decision without its reasons attached. Somebody framed this, paid to have it developed, kept it through several moves, and then it ended up in a box in a shop with no explanation of why any of that happened. Looking at it, you are looking at the shape of an attachment whose content is gone. That is oddly moving, because your own photographs will one day be exactly this to somebody.

Pick up something anonymous like this and let yourself wonder rather than invent. Then consider writing on the back of two of your own.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Would a stranger understand why you kept your favorite photograph?
