The moment you miss may have felt inconvenient while it happened.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
The times we later long for were often not experienced as good while they lasted. Broken sleep, a crowded kitchen, a long drive with someone who talked too much, all of it inconvenient in the middle and precious afterwards. That is not a failure of gratitude on your part. Presence and appreciation run on different clocks, and there is no way to feel the second from inside the first.
Rather than trying to be grateful on schedule, take one ordinary irritation this week and simply name who is inside it. That is usually enough, and it asks nothing you cannot give today.
Which tiring part of your current life will you later miss?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
