Good intentions should eventually become reliable behavior.

LEADERSHIP
Intending well is the starting point and not the finish. Meaning to call, meaning to help, meaning to be more patient: these are real and they change nothing for the person on the other end, who experiences only what actually happened. At some point good intentions have to become predictable behaviour or they are just a pleasant self-image.
Take one intention you have held for a while without acting on it and convert it into something scheduled. A date, a recurring time, a specific commitment. The conversion from feeling into mechanism is the whole difference, and it is usually a smaller step than the intention suggests.
