A morning routine becomes restrictive when a small change feels like a ruined day.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Routines are meant to save you decisions, and for a while they do. The tell that one has gone the other way is fragility: the milk is gone, the train is early, someone speaks to you before the coffee, and the whole day is declared spoiled. At that point the structure is no longer supporting you, it is being defended. Useful habits can absorb interruption; brittle ones cannot.

Test yours rather than abandoning it. Move one element on purpose this week and watch how strongly you object. If the objection is out of proportion, that is the piece to loosen, not the day to rescue.
