The person comparing two methods is looking for differences that enthusiasm alone will not identify.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Enthusiasm tells you how a thing feels, not how it performs against the alternative. Anything new produces energy simply by being new, and that energy is indistinguishable from evidence until you place two options side by side and watch them do the same job. Without a comparison, you end up defending whichever version you happened to try first.

Between two ways of doing something, run both on the same task before deciding. Keep the conditions similar and note where each one actually fails. The answer that survives that test is worth more than the one that excited you.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What are you excited about but have never actually compared?
