The object secured inside a box still depends on the box surviving its own journey.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Protection has layers, and each one carries its own weaknesses. Wrapping something carefully inside a container moves the risk outward: the box can be crushed, soaked, dropped or sent to the wrong city, and none of that is affected by how well the contents were padded. Securing the inside is not the same as securing the whole. The weakest layer decides the outcome.

Whenever you protect something, look one level out from where you were concentrating. Backups need somewhere safe to live; plans need the person carrying them to be all right. Ask what happens if the container fails.
