The view reached slowly is not diminished by someone else’s faster arrival.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Arriving takes as long as it takes, and the time it took does not price what you find at the top. Speed is a fact about the walk, not about the view. Comparison slips in anyway, because someone passing you on the path looks like a verdict rather than a person with different legs and a different day. What you are holding when you get there is unaffected by their pace.
When you catch yourself measuring your progress against somebody quicker, return your attention to what is in front of you. Ask what you would make of the day if nobody else had been on the path.
Whose faster progress makes you undervalue your own slower arrival?
