A delivery left where rain can reach it has mistaken proximity for completion.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Arriving at the right address is not the same as finishing the job. A parcel on a wet step has travelled its whole distance and failed in the last half metre, because the person who set it down was measuring their task rather than its purpose. Most work has an ending like this, one step past the point where it stops being visible to whoever is doing it. Nearly done and done look identical from the inside.

Take something you handed over recently and check where it actually landed. Ask what the last small step would have been, and whether anyone took it.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where do you stop just short of actually finishing something?
