Reading only what agrees with you produces confidence without accuracy. It feels like learning, since new details arrive constantly, but the structure never gets tested and any error at the foundation stays there permanently, reinforced from every direction.
Make a habit of finding the best version of the view you disagree with rather than the worst. Read someone who holds it seriously and could argue it well. You are not obliged to change your mind, and you will either hold your view more accurately or discover something you had been missing for years.
Whose views do you disagree with but read anyway?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
