An object can belong to one person while its story belongs to several.

REFLECTION
Ownership is a single answer to a question that has several. The watch or the ring goes to one name on a list, but the afternoons attached to it are held by everyone who was there. Families run into trouble when they treat the legal answer as the whole answer, so that whoever did not receive the object feels their share of the memory has been given away too.
If something has come to you, be the keeper rather than the sole owner of what it means. Photograph it, tell its story out loud, and offer it to the others in the form they can actually hold.
Which possession of yours carries a story other people also own?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
