You cannot learn from a mistake you are still busy hiding.

A mistake still being concealed cannot be examined, because looking at it directly threatens the concealment. So the energy goes into managing the story and none goes into understanding what happened, which guarantees the same thing occurs again. Hiding and learning use the same hours.

If you are currently covering something, consider whether the ongoing cost of the cover is larger than the cost of the admission. Frequently it is. And once it is out, the useful question becomes available: what actually caused this, and what would prevent it. You cannot get there while the thing is still hidden.
