A strong mind can hold a question without rushing to manufacture certainty.
CREATIVITY
CREATIVITY
The urge to resolve uncertainty is strong enough that people will manufacture an answer rather than sit with the question. The manufactured answer is worse than the open question, because it stops the search and feels like knowledge. Tolerating not knowing is a genuine capacity, and it can be developed.
Practise leaving a question open for a defined period without deciding. Write it down, say you do not know yet, and return to it later. The discomfort fades with practice, and what you gain is the ability to keep thinking about things that do not resolve quickly, which includes most of the important ones.
Which open question have you closed too early just to feel settled?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
