You cannot know whether you enjoy your own company if you never experience it.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Whether you like your own company is an empirical question, and most people have very little data. Time alone has been filled, interrupted, or avoided for so long that the question has never actually been tested, and the assumption in either direction is a guess.
Give it a real trial: several hours, unfilled, more than once. The first attempt will mostly be restlessness, so the second and third matter more. What you find out is genuinely useful, because a person who can be alone comfortably makes different and usually better decisions about who to be with.
When did you last spend an unplanned hour with only yourself?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
