An empty space can be more useful than the thing filling it politely.

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Space is a resource, not a gap waiting to be corrected. An empty shelf, an unbooked evening, a bare wall, a room with room in it: each has a use that vanishes the moment something reasonable is put there. Filling happens by default, because emptiness looks like an oversight and almost anything looks better than nothing. What gets lost is the capacity to accommodate whatever comes next.

Leave one place deliberately empty this week and see what wants to use it. Resist the polite object that would fill it adequately and permanently.
