A conversation can recover quickly when nobody treats a small stumble as its central event.

Conversations rarely break because of the stumble. Somebody uses the wrong word, forgets a name, mishears, or says something clumsy, and the exchange survives easily unless the room decides to make an event of it. Attention is what enlarges these moments, and attention is discretionary. A brief acknowledgement and a return to the subject repairs almost anything on that scale.
If you fumble a sentence this week, correct it in four words and keep going. If somebody else does, resist rescuing them at length and simply carry on as though the sentence had arrived intact.
How quickly do you let a verbal stumble stop mattering?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
