Snow makes a neighborhood look equal while its paths reveal unequal help.

REFLECTION
A covering of snow flattens the differences between houses for a few hours. What appears afterwards is not equal at all: some paths are cleared before dawn, some stay untouched for days, and the difference maps closely onto who has help, health, money or neighbours. The uniform surface hides the uneven support underneath it.
After the next bad weather, look along your street for the paths nobody has cleared. Clearing one is half an hour of work and often reaches somebody who had no way of doing it themselves and no comfortable way of asking.
Who near you gets shoveled out, and who does not?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
