The account with many followers still belongs to someone with a limited ordinary day.

Scale online creates an impression of unlimited availability that no person can match. Whatever the number beside a name, there is one body behind it with the same hours, the same tiredness and the same finite attention as everybody else. Expectations that ignore this are not unreasonable so much as arithmetically impossible.

When you send a message to somebody with a large audience, send it without an expectation attached. If the account is yours, saying plainly what you can and cannot reply to is kinder than a silence people will read as a verdict.
