The folder named final can contain a confidence the work has not yet earned.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Naming something finished is easy, and the name does no checking. A label can be a wish dressed as a description, a way of ending the discomfort of an open task rather than a report on it. Everyone knows the sequence that follows, the second version, the third, the one marked properly this time. The problem is not the naming. It is treating the name as evidence and stopping the review it deserved.
Before you call something done, say out loud what would have to be true for that to be accurate. If you cannot say it, the work is still open and that is fine.
What have you called finished that still needs another honest pass?
