The trail camera records lives continuing when nobody is there to admire them.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Animals do not perform. The badger crossing at three in the morning has been crossing for years whether or not a lens is pointed at it, and the footage does not capture a special event so much as prove that the ordinary night was always full. Existence does not require a witness in order to count, which is easy to forget in a life that documents itself constantly.
Let some of what you do this week go unrecorded. Take the walk without the photograph, cook the meal nobody hears about. Whatever happens will have happened just as much as the parts you show.
What continues without you whether or not you are watching?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
