The product that needs constant defending may be teaching you what affection costs.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Anything you find yourself defending regularly is telling you something, though not always what you assume. Sometimes the effort reveals genuine attachment: you know the faults exactly and still prefer it. Sometimes it reveals that the defending has become the relationship, and the thing itself stopped earning it a while ago. The tiredness in your own argument is the useful clue.
Listen to yourself the next time you make the case. Notice whether you sound like someone who enjoys the thing or someone who has invested too much to stop. Either answer is fine; only one of them means you should keep paying.
What do you keep defending, and what is that costing you?
