The prop that looks worthless backstage can carry the whole meaning of a scene.

REFLECTION
Objects have no fixed weight. A cheap ring, a folded letter, a chipped cup sits in a box with other junk until the moment it appears in the right hands, and then it holds everything the scene is about. What changes is not the thing but the situation around it and the attention the moment lends it. Meaning is largely a matter of placement.
Be slower to call something trivial, whether it is a small kindness, a short message, or an ordinary object someone kept. Ask what it is doing in the scene it belongs to before deciding what it is worth.
