Every difficult repetition is a vote against the person who used to quit.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Every time you do something difficult that you would previously have abandoned, you weaken a pattern rather than just completing a task. The old version of you had a well-worn route out, and each repetition that does not take it makes the route slightly less automatic. Change is not a decision made once. It is the accumulated result of the choices where you did the harder thing.

When something is hard and you want to stop, notice that this exact moment is where the change happens. Finish the smallest honest version rather than the whole thing. The vote counts whether or not the session was impressive.
