Original work may feel wrong simply because familiarity has not approved it yet.

CREATIVITY
Your sense of what is good is trained by repetition. Something you have never encountered registers as an error before it registers as a possibility, and that first flinch has nothing to do with quality. Familiarity is a slow judge, and it has simply not finished looking yet.
When your own work makes you uneasy, separate two questions. Ask whether it fails on its own terms, and ask whether it is only strange to you. Sit with the piece for a week without changing it, then look again and see which discomfort survives.
What have you rejected in your own work simply for feeling unfamiliar?
