A blurred photograph can still hold the clearest memory of how an evening felt.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Sharpness and truth are not the same thing. A shaky picture from the middle of an evening carries the motion, the laughing, the low light and the crowd, and that is often what you actually want back. The technically good photograph may be the one where everybody stopped being themselves.
Before you delete the imperfect ones, look at what they hold. Keep the blurred frame that puts you back in the room rather than the tidy one that does not. And take a few pictures this week without asking anybody to pause for them.
Which imperfect record of yours holds a feeling better than a sharp one?
