A sunset can end a difficult day beautifully without explaining why it was difficult.

Beauty does not answer anything. The sky goes orange over the same problems you had at lunchtime, and nothing has been solved, accounted for or made fair. What it offers instead is a break in the argument, a few minutes where the day is simply ending rather than being assessed.
When a day has gone badly, let something pleasant happen without demanding that it justify itself. Watch the light change, or stand outside for a minute. It will not resolve the difficulty, and it can still be worth having, and both of those things can be true at once.
When did beauty find you on a day that had earned none?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
