Innovation often looks unnecessary before it becomes expected.

Anything genuinely new arrives before the need it will serve has been articulated. People evaluate it against how they currently live, where it looks like an extra, and only later does the world reorganize so that its absence would be strange. The gap between unnecessary and expected is where most innovation lives.
When you catch yourself calling something pointless, ask what would have to change for it to be obvious. That question is a better filter than instinct, and it occasionally shows you where things are going before it becomes consensus.
Which change did you resist that now seems obvious?
