Creativity often hides inside the question nobody thought was worth asking.

Every field has questions it treats as settled, and settled is often just unexamined. The question nobody asks is rarely unasked because it was answered, more often because asking it looks naive and nobody wants to look naive. That leaves it sitting there.

Make a habit of asking the beginner’s question in rooms where you are supposed to know better. Why this way, what would happen otherwise, who decided. Half the time you will learn the good reason. The other half, nobody has one.
