The concessions of the weak are the concessions of fear.

LEADERSHIP
Agreement given from a position of no power is not agreement. When somebody cannot safely say no, their yes tells you nothing about what they think, and treating it as consent is a convenient error for whoever holds the stronger hand. This matters wherever sides are uneven: employer and employee, parent and child, anyone able to make life difficult. The compliance is real and the assent is not.
If you hold power in a relationship, make refusal genuinely available before asking. Notice who never disagrees with you and wonder why. And where you are the weaker party, know the difference between what you conceded and what you accepted.
Which of your concessions came from fear rather than generosity?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
