Be not hurried away by excitement, but say, “Semblance, wait for me a little. Let me see what you are and what you represent. Let me try you.”

REFLECTION
An impression arrives already dressed as the truth. The email is an insult, the silence contempt, the ache something serious, and the feeling comes with such force that it seems like no interpretation at all. The one move that changes everything is a gap between the impression and your response, long enough to look at the impression rather than through it. Most of what we regret was done in that gap, before it was taken.
Give yourself a physical version of the pause: stand up, walk to the window, count out a slow breath. Then ask what else the same facts could mean, and answer honestly before you reply.
What impression grabbed you before you had examined it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
