Every habit and faculty is preserved and increased by correspondent actions,—as the habit of walking, by walking; of running, by running.

RESILIENCE
A capacity is not a possession you own but a pattern you keep re-making. Walking keeps you able to walk, reading keeps you able to read, and patience is kept by being patient on the small occasions where it hardly matters. The unwelcome half of this is that the same law runs in the other direction: complaining makes a complainer, and avoidance makes avoidance easier next time.
Pick the quality you most want to be true of you and find the smallest daily action that is literally that quality in miniature. Do that one, today, and let the trait accumulate out of repetitions rather than intentions.
Which ability of yours grows only when you actually use it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
