LEADERSHIP
Being the sharpest person in a room is a limit, because the group can then only be as good as one mind. Making the room smarter is a different activity, mostly consisting of drawing out what others know, connecting it, and keeping the discussion honest. It produces conclusions no single person arrived at.
Count how much of your next meeting you spend supplying answers versus surfacing them. Try deliberately holding your view until three other people have spoken. The quality of what emerges usually rises.
Whose thinking do you make room for in a meeting?
