Genius always gives its best at first, prudence at last.

CREATIVITY
Brilliance tends to arrive early and unbidden; judgment arrives late and by instalments. The first idea from a gifted person is often the best one they will have on that subject, while the careful thinker improves for decades and peaks near the end. Neither is superior, but knowing which you are changes how you should work: one of you should capture the first thought, the other should not trust it.
Notice whether your best version of something is usually the first draft or the fifth. Then build the habit that suits it, either writing the idea down the moment it appears or refusing to send anything the same day.
Are you better at starting things or at finishing them well?
