May you live all the days of your life.

— Jonathan Swift

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Being alive and living are not the same quantity, and most people receive far more of the first than the second. Days get spent in transit, in waiting, in the low hum of getting through, and they still count against the total. The wish here is that none of yours pass unoccupied. It is a large thing to ask and it is asked kindly.

Run through the next seven days and find the two already written off in your mind. Put one real thing in each of them, small enough that it will actually happen.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which days lately did you get through rather than live?
