Amongst so many borrowed things, I am glad if I can steal one, disguising and altering it for some new service.

CREATIVITY
Nearly everything you make is assembled from material someone else made first, and pretending otherwise costs more than it gains. What is actually yours is the alteration: the shift in purpose, the piece bent to fit a problem its maker never had. Taking well is a skill, and it is a different skill from inventing from nothing.
Pick one method, phrase or approach you picked up from somebody else this year. Ask what it was built for, and what you would need to change to make it serve the thing in front of you now. Then change that one thing rather than copying it whole.
What idea did you borrow and quietly make into your own?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
