Waiting for a settled account of everything before allowing anything to matter is a way of postponing your life indefinitely, because the account will not settle. Meaning is available at a much smaller scale, inside commitments and relationships that do not depend on resolving the large questions.

Let the unanswered things stay unanswered for now. Ask what you would do this week if the big questions were simply not going to be resolved. That answer is usually a good one.
