Be ruled by time, the wisest counsellor of all.

— Plutarch

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Time settles questions that no amount of thinking will. Feelings that seem permanent turn out to be weather, people show their pattern, and a decision that was impossible in March is obvious by June without any new information arriving. Waiting is a genuine method rather than the absence of one.

When a choice is unclear and nothing is on fire, set a date and revisit it then instead of forcing it now. Use the interval to gather evidence rather than to worry. And be honest about the difference between waiting for clarity and avoiding a decision you have already made.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which decision would look obvious if you waited a month?
