The eye of the intellect “sees in all objects what it brought with it the means of seeing.”

REFLECTION
You see what you have equipped yourself to see. A builder and a botanist walk down the same street and come back with entirely different reports, neither of them straining, because attention finds what it already has categories for. What you lack the means to notice does not register as missing; it simply is not there.
Give yourself one new lens this year rather than more information through the old ones. Learn a little about how buildings stand up, or how money moves, or how a piece of music is put together. A month of it changes the ordinary walk to work permanently, which is a large return for the effort.
What do you consistently see because you already expect it?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
