LEADERSHIP
Poor judgment becomes other people’s problem once it has resources behind it. A person who is wrong about things and has no power is merely wrong; give the same person money, authority or a following and the errors acquire consequences that somebody else has to absorb. Success also confirms them in the view that they were right all along, which removes the last mechanism that might have corrected anything.
If you are working near this, protect the parts you can and stop expecting the situation to teach the lesson. And when things go well for you, treat the success as the least reliable evidence about your own judgment.
Whose success made them harder for you to be around?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
