Good actions give strength to ourselves and inspire good actions in others.

— Plato

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Acting well changes the actor first. Each time you do the decent thing it becomes fractionally easier and more like you, which is why character gets built out of instances rather than intentions. The effect on other people is real but secondary, and it works mostly by demonstration, since people copy what they see done far more than what they hear recommended.

Do the good thing where it is inconvenient rather than where it is visible, because that is where the strengthening happens and being watched is not the point.
