He who wishes to secure the good of others, has already secured his own.

CREATIVITY
Working for other people’s wellbeing tends to settle your own in ways that are hard to reach by pursuing it directly. Attention on someone else’s good gives you somewhere to put your mind besides your own worries, a steady sense of being useful, and the kind of connections that hold when things go wrong. The benefit arrives almost as a by-product.
That does not mean neglecting yourself or giving until you are empty. It means that when your own life feels stuck, turning some effort outward is often more restorative than another round of self-improvement. Find one person whose week you could make easier, and do it.
Whose good have you worked for without expecting anything back?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
