Those who will play with cats must expect to be scratched.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Some risks come bundled with the pleasure, and it is odd to enjoy one while resenting the other. If you choose a contact sport, a cut-throat industry or a sharp-tongued crowd, the occasional wound is part of the arrangement rather than an injustice. Complaining about it announces a hope of keeping the fun and skipping the claws. None of this applies to harm someone else decided to do to you.

Look at something that keeps stinging and ask whether the sting is a malfunction or the known cost of what you picked. If it is the cost, either accept it with open eyes or stop playing, and both are legitimate.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which risk are you taking while resenting its predictable costs?
