Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.

CREATIVITY
Daydreaming gets treated as idleness, yet a wandering mind makes connections that focused attention misses. Letting thoughts drift while awake allows odd associations, possibilities and questions to surface, and unlike the dreams of sleep, you are there to catch them. People who never allow that drift see only what their current task shows them.
Give yourself a stretch of unstructured time this week without a screen, perhaps a walk or a long bath. Let your mind go where it wants, and jot down anything that arrives which you would not have thought of at your desk.
What do you see while daydreaming that focused work never shows?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
