Not every difficult and dangerous thing is suitable for training, but only that which is conducive to success in achieving the object of our effort.

Hardship is not automatically useful. There is a habit of treating any ordeal as character-building, so people take on punishing routines and risks that leave them tired and brave without making them any better at what they are trying to do. Training worth the name is difficulty chosen for a purpose, aimed at a specific capacity you actually need. Everything else is just suffering with a flattering label.
Look at the hardest thing in your current routine and ask what exactly it is building. If you cannot name the skill, consider replacing it with a difficulty that is less impressive and more precisely aimed.
Which hard thing are you enduring that builds nothing you want?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
