Learn things that make your future self harder to trap.

Traps in a life are usually made of dependence. You stay somewhere because you cannot do the thing that would let you leave, or you accept terms because you have no alternative to compare them to. Learning is what dissolves that dependence in advance. Every capability you build removes one wall from a room your future self might otherwise be stuck inside.

Look at the situations you would find hardest to walk away from, and ask what ability would make walking possible. It might be practical, financial, technical, or simply the ability to have a hard conversation without collapsing. Learn that thing while you are not yet trapped, because it is far easier to build an exit before you need one.
