GRATITUDE
Wanting to be something is different from doing the thing the title describes. Many people love the idea of being a writer, musician or painter, and spend years on the identity, collecting tools, reading about the craft, planning, while producing very little. The activity is the only route to the identity, and it works even when the output is poor. Nobody gets good at a practice they mainly think about.
Name the role you most want to claim. Decide on a small, regular quantity of the actual work, such as three hundred words or twenty minutes, and do it on most days for a month without judging the results.
What do you call yourself without doing the daily part?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
