Stop asking others to value what you repeatedly abandon.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
People take their cues about your worth from how you treat what matters to you. If you keep setting down the work, the standard, or the boundary you claim to care about, the message received is that it was never that important. Then the disappointment at not being valued lands on the wrong target, because the abandonment came first and the indifference followed it.
Pick the one thing you most want taken seriously and ask when you last treated it seriously yourself. Protect a small piece of time for it this week and do not move that time for anything ordinary. Other people’s regard tends to follow your own, though usually at a delay.
