Ambition should create more room in your life, not less humanity.

LEADERSHIP
Ambition can widen a life or narrow it, and the direction depends on what it does to your treatment of people. When the drive starts justifying rudeness, absence, and a general shortage of patience, it has begun taking more than it gives, no matter how the results look. The goal is meant to create room, not to consume everything that made room worth having.
Ask someone close to you whether you have been harder to be around lately. Take the answer at face value rather than explaining the pressure you are under. Then fix one specific behaviour, since ambition rarely requires the particular unkindness it produces.
What has your ambition crowded out that you would like back?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
