You cannot know your range from the center of it.

Staying comfortably in the middle of what you can do gives you no information about the edges. Everything works, so you learn nothing about where things stop working, and your sense of your own range is entirely theoretical. Only going out toward the boundary tells you where it actually is.

Do something this month that is clearly at the edge for you, in a setting where failing is affordable. The point is not to succeed but to find out where the limit sits. That knowledge is worth more than another comfortable success.
