Faith has to do with things that are not seen and hope with things that are not at hand.

— Thomas Aquinas

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Two different kinds of reaching are being separated. One concerns what you cannot verify, the other what you cannot yet have; the first is a question about evidence, the second about time. Keeping them apart is useful, because people often treat a delay as though it were a disproof.

When you are discouraged, work out which of the two you are actually struggling with. If the thing is simply not here yet, the answer is endurance and a longer horizon. If you have genuinely stopped believing it is real, that is a different question and deserves to be asked directly rather than answered with more waiting.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What are you holding onto that has not arrived yet?
