When love and skill work together, expect a masterpiece.

Care without competence produces something sincere and badly made. Competence without care produces something correct that nobody remembers. The rare combination is a person who both knows how and genuinely minds, and that is what people are sensing when work seems to have something extra in it.

Check which half you are short of on your current project. If it is skill, the answer is practice and somebody to show you. If it is care, the answer is usually rest, or getting closer to whoever the work is for. Both are fixable, and neither gets fixed by trying harder at the wrong one.
